Setting boundaries for family visits?

My mom gave up her room to my grandma when she came to visit, but my grandma is 90 years old. At that age she's earned the right to take over someone's room.

In your case, it sounds like they should be perfectly happy downstairs. Then again, only you know what the two sleeping spaces are like. If the basement is an unpleasant place to be, I think it may just be best to concede your room to his parents. I know it's sh*tty, but sometimes you have to do that stuff.

That said, I would suggest at least talking to your husband about it if you haven't already.
